In contrast to other forms of financial aid scholarships and grants are not a requirement for repayment as long as learners meet the financial requirements. Students who are interested can get several grants and scholarships to reduce their costs. In addition to healthcare scholarships and grants, degree-seekers can also pursue employee tuition assistance, work-study programs, and fellowships/assistantships. We divide the following scholarships into general, demographic-specific, and regional or school-specific categories to help students find the funding they need to focus on their new careers without a mountain of debt. Basic Medical ScholarshipsMaxine Williams Scholarship This award is presented by the American Association of Medical Assistants to those who have completed one semester of medical assistant programs. Their department's program director has to solicit the application on behalf of the student. Requirements for eligibility: All students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be enrolled in a CAAHEP accredited program. They must also finish at minimum one semester. Graduate Pupil Scholarship The American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation offers this scholarship to master's- and doctoral-level students enrolled in speech pathology, communication sciences, or a related degree at an accredited school. Qualifications: Every applicant must maintain current enrollment in graduate programs and prove academic merit throughout their educational journey. Three letters of recommendation, university transcripts, and an essay answering the question on career goals are required. Jimmy A. Young Memorial Education Recognition Award The award, which is offered by the American Respiratory Care Foundation, supports undergraduates working toward an accredited respiratory health degree. Aside from school funding the recipients also receive air travel and lodging for the annual American Association for Respiratory Care Congress. The Edgar Radjabli Scholarships announce their annual college scholarship to undergraduates in the United States who are currently in the process of studying healthcare or are high school students planning on enrolling in college to study healthcare. Eligibility requirements Students must be able to show an at-least 3.0 GPA and submit an essay on the topic of respiratory health. Letters of recommendation, evidence that they are enrolled, and transcripts must be submitted by the applicants prior to the 15th of June. DNP/Ph.D. Student Scholarship The NAPNAP Foundation provides support for nurses who are working towards their DNP/Ph.D. certification if they intend to concentrate their studies on pediatrics. Qualifications: All applicants must be enrolled in a current program with at least a 3.5 or higher GPA in an accredited DNP or Ph.D. program focused on pediatrics. Every candidate is required to submit a personal essay and CV, along with three letters of support. Barbara A. Cooley Master's Scholarship The Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) offers this award to those enrolled who is enrolled in a master's programme in health education at an accredited institution. The awardees also get a one-year membership to SHAPE America. Eligibility requirements: All applicants must hold an at-least 3.0 GPA and provide a CV, a three-part essay about their education philosophy, and two letters to recommend themselves. Scholarship Essay Contest Sharps, Inc. offers this award each year to students who are accepted into or currently studying in a degree program that is focused on health studies or a related topic. The requirements for eligibility Students must compose an essay that outlines how they intend to use their degree. Each applicant has to submit a completed application, unofficial transcripts and letters of recommendation with a resume. HIMSS Foundation Undergraduate Foundation The scholarship is open to undergraduate students who are enrolled in an accredited health information or management systems. The applicant must be in their final year of study in order to be eligible. The eligibility requirements are that a HIMSS members in good standing may be eligible for the award by submitting an online application with two letters of recommendation, and the resume.
